UK Platform Provider Employs SEI’s New Web Services

Fusion Wealth, a technology provider for wealth managers and IFAs, has completed the next steps in its integration with SEI’s Global Wealth Services via the latter’s new web services.

Fusion is SEI’s first client to use the online services, as well as a standard file transfer protocol, which enables further integration between GWS and the Fusion front-end portal.

Web services provide models for retrieving and updating data, in addition to initiating business processes within the GWS platform. Such services are now available for all GWS clients, SEI said.

“The use of web services will be of enormous benefit to wealth managers and IFAs as it allows straight-through processing of electronic applications from a firm’s client-management software, direct into the trading solution and third-party wrappers, eliminating the need to re-key data,” said Ian Cooke, Fusion chief executive.

As of 31 March, SEI - through its subsidiaries and partnerships in which the firm has a significant interest - manages or administers $428 billion in mutual fund and pooled or separately-managed assets, including $189 billion in assets under management and $239 billion in assets under administration.
