UK Financial Consultancy Gets A Makeover

IMS Consulting, the UK independent asset management and securities regulatory consultancy, said yesterday it has completed restructuring its business into business divisions as The IMS Group.
Scott Wilson, who founded IMS Consulting in 1997, moves from chief executive of IMS Consulting to become CEO of The IMS Group. Stephen Burke, Chris Rexworthy and Andrew Insley are now group directors of The IMS Group, with Peter Moore taking the role of CEO of the regulation and compliance division. Chris Rexworthy also takes a new position as CEO of IMS Mirabella.
The firm now has more than 400 clients drawn from hedge funds and private equity firms, venture capital, wealth management, corporate finance and advisory and broker-dealers and banks. The group now has more than 60 staff, having hired five new consultants in 2010 in response to client demand.
The group now comprises seven divisions:
Regulation & Compliance; Accounting and Tax - IMS Buzzacott (a joint venture which began in 2008); Strategic Investment Consulting - IMS Market Access; Regulatory Hosting - IMS Mirabella; Portfolio Risk Management – IMS Mirabella, Recruitment, and Training and Education.
“With the development of our business over the past few years it was clear that we had outgrown our identity solely as a compliance consultancy, especially as some of our other services are now substantial businesses in their own right,” Wilson said in a statement.
