UK Asset Manager Hires Product Development Chief

UK-based Ignis Asset Management has named Jeremy Soutter - latterly of Aviva Investors - as global head of product development.
Soutter latterly held a similar position at Aviva Investors where he spent 13 years. He left Aviva earlier this year when the group’s parent company, the insurance firm Aviva, restructured its management structure. He has worked in asset management since the early 1980s, first at Lloyds and then Gartmore Fund Management. In 1985 he joined Henderson as a portfolio manager working on the fund of funds desk.
He will join his new employer at the start of next month and report to Claude Chene, the firm's global head of distribution.
In other recent developments at Ignis, the asset manager took on Grant Hotson as chief financial officer at the beginning of July. Hotson had been head of finance at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership since 2011.
The UK fund manager had £73.3 billion ($113.8 billion) in assets under management at the end of March.
