UK's Premier Snaps Up Barclays Wealth South West Operation

Wealth management firm Premier has snapped up a whole regional division of Barclays Wealth.

Wealth management firm Premier, a UK business, has snapped up a whole regional division of Barclays Wealth.

The Croydon and Bristol based company has hired Barclays Wealth South West regional director Paul Freeman and his entire team for its new South West operation.

Freeman is now head of wealth planning at Premier.

Joining him are wealth managers Andrew Wakely, Mick Smith, Scott Ellis, Gareth Helyer, Kate Nield and Gareth Morris. While Kate Ross, Rebekah Pettersson and Lisa Taynton have also moved from Barclays to join the support team.

"To have a team of such calibre join the business is a major coup for Premier. They bring with them significant experience in wealth management and independent advice," said Paul Couchman, managing director at Premier.

"Working closely with our existing team, they will play a key role in expanding our presence across Bristol, the South West, and Wales. These appointments build on Premier’s success in expanding its IFA coverage on across the country," he added.
