UK's Standard Life Boosts Multi-Manager Funds Solutions Team

Standard Life Investments, the UK-based fund management division of Standard Life has appointed Rickey Thevakarrunai as fund analyst to strengthen its multi-manager fund solutions team.

Latterly, Thevakarrunai was portfolio analyst at PIMCO, prior to which he worked at State Street Global Advisors.

Reporting to Bambos Hambi, head of fund of funds management, in his new role Thevakarrunai will join the team responsible for the analysis of funds, which form part of the MyFolio mutual funds; responsible for £2.6 billion ($4.16 billion) of third-quarter company sales. The team also oversees Standard Life Wealth, as well as the “Quality and Choice” range, maintained by Standard Life’s UK business.

“This sends a clear message to the market that we have the right level of commitment and the appropriate amount of resources to grow the multi-manager business even further in the future and to continue to meet investors’ needs,” said Hambi.

In other developments, earlier this month the company appointed Adam Rudd - who previously worked for JP Morgan in New York - as Investment director for the firm’s multi-asset investments.

Standard Life Investments has £163.4 billion (about $261.1 billion) in assets under management, as at 30 September.
