UBS Names New Head Of CIO Equities

Over the course of her career, the new senior hire – an Aspen Finance Leaders Fellow – has been recognised across the industry for her investment expertise and leadership.
Swiss private bank UBS has appointed Ulrike Hoffmann-Burchardi to join UBS Global Wealth Management’s chief investment office as head of CIO equities, starting in October.
In this new role, Hoffmann-Burchardi will help steer global investment decision-making, influencing how the firm invests its equity allocations on behalf of clients, the firm said in an internal memo seen by WealthBriefing. She will be based in Zurich, reporting to Mark Haefele chief investment officer at UBS Global Wealth Management, and will become a member of the House View Investment Meeting.
Hoffmann-Burchardi will be joining the firm from Tudor Investment Corporation, a global investment firm, where she has been a partner and senior portfolio manager since 2009. She was a member of the firm’s Strategy and Quantitative Investment Committees. Over the course of her career, she has been recognised across the industry for her investment expertise and leadership, UBS continued. Hoffmann-Burchardi is an Aspen Finance Leaders Fellow, she holds a PhD in finance from the London School of Economics, and an MA in finance from the University of St Gallen.
“Ulrike is joining the bank at an exciting time, as we move forward on our integration journey. Her expertise, drive, and dedication will help us further reinforce the strength of our award-winning CIO for the benefit of all our clients,” Haefele said.
