UBS Names New Group Chief Financial Officer

The current CFO, who has been at the bank since 2013, is stepping down next year. UBS has named his successor.
UBS has a new chief
financial officer - Sarah Youngwood. Formerly at JP Morgan, she will take
over the role in May after the existing CFO Kirt Gardner decided
to step down.
Gardner will work with Youngwood during her two-month onboarding
period before retiring from UBS to pursue other opportunities in
May, the Zurich-listed firm said in a statement
yesterday.
Prior to this, Youngwood had been chief financial officer of JP
Morgan’s consumer and community banking line of business since
2016. From 2020, her role also included leading finance for the
firm’s global technology unit, as well as the diversity and
inclusion team. Between 2012 and 2016, she served as head of
investor relations for JP Morgan. Prior to that, she spent 14
years in various roles in the financial institutions group within
JP Morgan’s investment bank in Paris, London and New York. She
holds a combined undergraduate and master's degree in finance and
business from ESCP Europe Business School. As part of that
programme, she spent six months at the Stanford Graduate School
of Business.
Gardner joined UBS in 2013 and was named group CFO and a member
of the UBS group executive board in January 2016. Between 2013
and 2015, he served as CFO for UBS Wealth Management.
