UBS Global Asset Management has beefed up its retail sales team by promoting John Shepherd and Warren Tonkinson into senior roles to help capture the future growth opportunities in key distribution channels. Mr Shepherd is promoted to a new role as head of UK Discretionary & Intermediaries, which incorporates responsibility for UBS Global Asset Management’s relationship with UBS Wealth Management’s high net worth individual and core affluent client segments. Mr Tonkinson, head of UK Strategic Alliances, takes on additional responsibility for building UBS’ presence in the wider IFA community and nationals and networks channel. He will be looking to recruit an additional sales director for this channel, to augment the recent appointment of Christian Elliott as head of the UK broker desk.
