UBS Continues To Broaden Footprint In UK Regions

UBS Wealth Management has appointed four client advisors to continue the double-digit percentage growth of its business in the UK’s regions, the Zurich-listed bank has confirmed.

UBS Wealth Management has appointed four client advisors to continue the double-digit percentage growth of its business in the UK’s regions, the Zurich-listed bank has confirmed. This part of the Swiss bank’s operations have seen assets under management rise by almost 50 per cent since 2009.

Matt Hoyne joins UBS's Edinburgh office to focus on serving Scottish wealth management clients, bringing the team, led by Colin Aitken, to nine. Previously, Hoyne worked for Merrill Lynch in the US and more recently as a senior private banker with Lloyds at its Mayfair Private Banking office in Scotland.

Simon Pearson and Richard Walker join UBS' Manchester office as client advisors.

The office, which has been in existence for almost 10 years, has a team of 12 people. Pearson has over 20 years in the financial services industry, having mainly worked at Lloyds. Most recently he worked within that firm’s international private bank, spending the last three years as a senior private banker at its office in Manchester.

Walker also started his wealth management career over 20 years ago and prior to joining UBS he worked as a private client director at the Leeds office of Brown Shipley.

Carl Tremlin joins the southwest team as a client advisor, reporting to Martyn Begbour. He is fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Most recently, he spent over six years at Lloyds, Mayfair Private Banking.

"UBS's regional businesses have seen invested assets grow by 49 per cent since 2009, and now have strong teams of 52 employees covering Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, and the South West,” Nick Tucker, head of domestic, UBS Wealth Management UK, said.
