The investment firm has expanded its UK operations with a recent hire to its Guildford office.

UK investment manager Tilney has appointed Craig de Jong as a financial planner to its Guildford office, continuing its recruitment drive.

de Jong will be responsible for delivering the firm's expert service to clients alongside its investment managers to provide wealth management advice, the firm said yesterday in a statement.

He joins from Santander, where he was a financial planning manager. Prior to Santander, he worked as a premier client manager for high net worth private clients at HSBC.

“Craig joins us as part of Tilney’s continuing expansion within the financial planning sector, and follows the hiring of highly talented financial planning staff across the United Kingdom,” said Rob Chandler, regional head of financial planning. “Demand for financial advice is currently higher than it has ever been before. This is important and we are committed to growing our financial planning offering in order to provide the trusted relationships and holistic advice our clients require."

WealthBriefing reported last month that Tilney hired financial planner Darren Steadman to join its Bristol office.
