Three New Investec Funds For UK Investors

Investec Asset Management, part of UK- and South Africa-listed Investec, has launched three new OEIC funds for the UK market.

The Global Franchise Fund invests in a concentrated portfolio of companies mostly with dominant “intangible” assets, such as strong brands and patents, in stable or growing industries. The firm’s offshore equivalent, the GSF Global Franchise Fund, has delivered top-decile performance over one, three and five years.

The Emerging Markets Blended Debt Fund offers both local and hard currency exposure to emerging markets debt across a universe of over 50 countries; the Emerging Markets Equity Fund uses Investec’s 4Factor bottom-up global equities investment process.

“Our onshore Global Franchise Fund allows UK investors to access a global equity investment strategy with a proven track record of outperformance and capitalises on the continued globalisation of clients’ portfolios. Launching these two further onshore emerging market funds also offers our clients another means of tapping into what we view as an exciting long-term secular growth story,” said David Aird, Investec’s managing director for the UK client group.

At end-August Investec had assets under management of approximately $100 billion.
