The Private Bank Hires Regional Manager For Wealth Division

PrivateBancorp has named Chris Carman as the new regional manager of St Louis and Kansas City for the private wealth division of The PrivateBank.

Carman joins The PrivateBank from the St Louis-based financial technology firm Exegy, where he held the position of senior vice president for business development since 2007. In his new role Carman will lead the delivery of the firm’s trust, investment management and private banking services, and will also work with the commercial banking team to introduce private wealth services to clients.

Before Exegy, Carman was part of the investment banking division of AG Edwards, where he worked with clients in the technology industry and progressed to the position of managing director.

"Chris has a tremendous understanding of the business dynamics in our region and, as a result, the complexities the owners and executives of middle-market companies face in their personal financial management," said Robert Holmes, head of regional banking at The PrivateBank.

"His extensive advisory experience around business valuations, liquidity event planning, and due diligence will allow us to strengthen our role as a trusted advisor to our clients," added Kristine Garrett, head of private wealth at the bank.

PrivateBancorp had $12.5 billion in assets under management as of 31 March 2011.
