Sydney Stockbroker Seeks Private Client Advisors - Report

Cameron Stockbrokers is on the hunt for more advisors and brokers while it establishes a formal investment committee to lead the firm's investment strategy.

The 30-advisor strong Cameron Stockbrokers, led by former AMP Capital Investors head of private clients Giles Craig, wants to add up to ten private client advisors, with a strong focus on stockbroking capabilities.

Mr Craig, who was appointed managing director of the Sydney firm in late March, is also looking to set up a formal investment committee to streamline and improve the firm's investment strategies and model portfolios.

"At the moment we have extremely experienced staff… but I would like to move towards an investment committee, [one that will] have a look across the portfolios for clients," he said.

"It's a greater collaborative approach, particularly if we're running model portfolios for third party distribution," said Mr Craig.

Mr Craig points out that the firm is looking to take on more professional private client advisors ideally with a stock broking background as the firm's high net worth clients increase their demand for quality advice and guidance through turbulent markets.

"At the moment the focus is very much on private client stockbrokers… we are talking to a number of advisers with the view of affiliations and links to provide a complete service to our clients.

"We are looking for people experienced with picking stocks and managing clients' portfolios," Mr Craig added.
