Switzerland's BCV Adds To Board Of Directors

The appointment to Swiss banking group BCV's board was made by the Vaud Cantonal Government.

Lausanne-headquartered Banque Cantonale Vaudoise has added Peter Ochsner to its board of directors.

Ochsner will chair the audit and risk committee, replacing Stephan Bachmann who will soon reach the age limit specified in the law governing BCV for serving on the group's board. He will step down on 21 April 2016 and Ochsner will take up his new role at the beginning of July.

Ochsner, a Swiss-certified accountant, previously spent over 30 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was a lead bank auditor. He left the firm last year, having served on its management board and recently headed up its auditing practice in Switzerland. He has worked with clients in the banking and insurance industries, both in Switzerland and internationally.

“As BCV welcomes the arrival of its newest board member, the bank would also like to extend its warmest thanks to Stephan Bachmann, vice chairman of the board of directors and chair of the audit and risk committee,” said BCV.

“His unparalleled experience in the field, rigorous auditing skills, and thorough knowledge of Switzerland’s financial sector – coupled with his energetic spirit and outgoing nature – have been major assets for BCV. His valuable insights and faithful service as head of the audit and risk committee since 1 January 2008 have been appreciated across the bank.”
