The SWX Swiss Exchange and Deutsche Boerse will launch a joint venture to trade structured products in 2007. The new exchange, to be known as Alex, will be domiciled in Luxembourg, with subsidiaries in Switzerland and Germany. Each will be subject to national regulation and use separate trading platforms until a joint platform is adopted in 2008. The two exchanges already own the Eurex futures and options exchange and publish the Stoxx market indexes.
