Swiss Private Bank Opens Office in Dubai

Swiss private bank, Banque Piguet has opened a Dubai representative office. The establishment is staffed by Bahrain citizen Mohammed Ahmadi and Manmohan Sehgal, originally from India. Mr Ahmadi will be in charge of Arabic customer acquisition for the entire region with a focus on Saudi Arabia, while Mr. Sehgal will concentrate primarily on developing the expatriate customer base. Before joining Piguet, Mr Ahmadi worked for several years as a wealth manager at Mashreq Bank in Dubai. Mr Sehgal has spent most of his career in private banking with HSBC in Dubai. Charles de Boissezon, president of the executive board, said: “In spite of the large number of Swiss banks opening offices in Dubai, we think the moment is well chosen for establishing a presence in the region which has become a hub not only for the Gulf clientele but also for customers from India, Pakistan and Africa.” Earlier this year, the bank opened an office in Hong Kong, also led by locally recruited staff.
