Swiss IT House Ramps Up Data Services To Clients Such As Banks

Geneva-based private cloud provider Penta will be offering new specialised data management solutions using Commvault’s data management platform.

Swiss IT firm Penta is offering new specialised data management solutions such as disaster recovery and archives, teaming up with Commvault, which operates in fields such as information protection – a key requirement at a time of concerns about data loss and security.

Penta says it offers a range of new cloud-hosted service options as a certified provider, making use of Commvault’s software, targeting Penta’s traditional clients such as banks, among other firms. The enhanced features of the offering include backup, disaster recovery and archiving-as-a-service; low-cost, long-term archiving of files and emails, and backing up of local machines in a secure cloud environment.

Commvault services are audited to comply with international regulations as well as requirements set down by FINMA, the Swiss financial watchdog, the Dubai Financial Services Authority, and other watchdogs.

“The technical possibilities that Commvault’s software enables puts Penta among the leaders when it comes to backup and disaster recovery,” said Penta CEO Farhad Khalilnia. “The combination of regulatory compliance and leading technology puts our clients at a significant competitive advantage in IT.”

As a result of the latest development, Penta adds what it calls "market-leading" data management to its data center infrastructure in Geneva, Lausanne, Tokyo and Dubai. Penta was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Geneva, with offices also in Dubai’s DIFC.
