The Partners Group, a Swiss alternative investment firm, has raised SFr555 million ($423.6 million) on a listing on the Swiss stock exchange. The initial public offering originally raised SFr505 million with the placement of 8.01 million shares. But the offering was hugely over-subscribed and an option to sell an additional 3 per cent (801,000 shares) of the firm was exercised. Altogether 33 per cent of the Zug-based alternative investment firm was involved in the free float. The offering was managed by Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch, Bank Sal Oppenheim, Landesbank Baden-Wurttemberg and Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch. Partners manages around SFr11 billion of assets in various alternative classes, including private equity and hedge funds. Founded in 1996 by three ex-Goldman Sachs bankers – Alfred Gantner, Marcel Erni and Urs Wietlisbach – Partners opened a London office early last year. It also has offices in Guernsey, New York, and Singapore.
