Susquehanna Hires Executive VP, Treasurer

Nasdaq-listed Susquehanna Bancshares has appointed Michael Harrington as executive vice president and treasurer - a role in which he will lead the accounting and finance department.

Harrington starts his new post in June, reporting to Drew Hostetter, executive vice president and chief financial officer, the firm said.

At present, Harrington is treasurer and chief investment officer at First Niagara Financial Group, having previously served as CFO.

Harrington initially worked for Susquehanna as CFO of the firm’s bank subsidiary in New Jersey, from 2002 until 2003. Overall, he has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry.

In February, Susquehanna completed its acquisition of Tower Bancorp, which saw the latter firm's wealth business, Graystone Wealth Management, become part of Susquehanna Wealth Management.

Susquehanna Bancshares is a financial services holding company with assets of more than $17.5 billion; its primary subsidiary is Susquehanna Bank.
