SunGard appoints new head of WealthStation sales

Ex Morgan Stanley director to boost desktop uptake in bank, trust channels. SunGard has made Dan Vacca director of sales for its WealthStation asset-allocation and portfolio-optimization desktop platform. Vacca is responsible for drumming up new business and getting WealthStation into community banks and small- and middle-market trust companies.
Before joining SunGard, Vacca was director of financial planning at Morgan Stanley. Prior to that he was CFO for Merrill Lynch's Business Financial Services unit.

Vacca will be based in New York.
The day after Vacca's news of appointment broke this week, SunGard posted an ad for a Southeast regional director of sales with Vacca as the contact. "Responsibilities include the identification, qualification and contracting of new account relationships," the posting reads. "In addition, the position requires managing the entire sales process from initial client contact to implementation and conversion to the new platform."
SunGard's WealthStation combines financial planning, market data, data consolidation and rules-based decision making to provide an "integrated" web-based offering to financial institutions of all kinds.
Wayne, Pa.-based SunGard is a software and processing provider to financial service companies, higher-education institutes and a public-sector entities. -FWR
