State Street Announces MD, Business Head For Asia Pac

State Street is emphasising its commitment to the fast growing Asian region with the recent hire of Yvonne Wong as managing director and head of business development for Asia Pacific.

Wong will be joining the company's Enhanced Custody business, which provides servicing solutions for long/short strategies. The full-service Enhanced Custody solution, which was launched in 2008, provides clients with the ability to engage in direct borrowing and financing from their own long positions.

Her appointment came alongside the naming of Doug Stern as global business development and client service for Enhanced Custody and Nicholas Bonn as head of the firm's Securities Finance business.

State Street operates in 25 countries and has a significant presence in Boston, Hong Kong, London, Tokyo, Sydney and Toronto. It has $19 trillion in assets under custody and administration and $1.9 trillion in assets under management as of 31 March 2010.
