Standard Life is to launch an ethical investing micro-site - www.focusonethical.co.uk - on 24 September 2007. It will feature fund manager interviews, ethical stock stories and literature of interest to the ethically-minded investor. On the same day, the company is unveiling its European equity ethical fund, aimed at investors looking for exposure to European equities in an investment product which reflects concerns on social and environmental issues. Stuart Fraser, lead manager of the fund, said: “We will be looking to invest in companies that meet our existing ethical criteria and will actively exclude companies that fail to meet with prescribed standards. We will include, however, companies whose business activities are regarded as making a positive contribution - in terms of preserving the environment or improving the quality and safety of human life.”
