Standard Chartered Private Bank Makes Raft Of Singapore, Hong Kong And UAE Appointments
The past few weeks have been busy in terms of hires for the UK-listed banking group.
Standard
Chartered Private Bank has appointed relationship managers
and team leaders in its global team based across booking centres
in Singapore (picture shows Singapore office), Hong Kong and
the United Arab Emirates.
Singapore
Nicholas Cheng recently joined as managing director, head of
private markets group, reporting to Foo Tian Ong, regional head,
private banking, Southeast Asia, and Singapore location
head. Most recently, Cheng focused on strategic advisory to
C-suite, and franchise building together with UHNW and
institutional limited partnerships.
Hedi Dorai joined the bank in June as executive director, RM,
reporting to Vijai Krovvidi, market head, private banking, global
South Asian clients. Dorai has more than 20 years’ experience,
having worked in leading private banks including most recently at
Credit Suisse. He has worked in investment advisory and portfolio
management for HNW and UHNW clients in Asia, the Middle East and
Europe.
Au Soo Leng joined as executive director, RM, reporting to team
lead Andy Chua. Soo Leng brings 30 years of experience in private
banking and wealth management with HSBC, during which time she
honed her franchise building and client engagement skills with
HNW and UHNW clients.
Angelina Wee joined as ED and RM, reporting to team lead Gregory
Wong. Most recently with UBS, Wee developed her career in private
banking over the last 20 years.
Royston Ow Yong is to join from UBS as MD, team lead, reporting
to Paterson Lau, market head, private banking, Indonesia. Yong
has 25 years’ experience working with UHNW clients in Indonesia
and Singapore.
Hong Shuqin and Gabriel Koh will join as director, RM and
associate director, RM, respectively, reporting to Paterson.
Shuqin brings nearly 20 years of experience in client
relationship management; most recently, she was with
Deutsche Bank. Koh has more than 15 years’ private banking
experience, including a spell at UBS.
Sarah Lim will join from UBS as head, investment advisory,
reporting to Tian Ong. In this role, Lim will lead the ASEAN and
Greater China investment advisory team based in
Singapore.
Hong Kong
Jeffrey Song joined in June as executive director, RM, reporting
to team lead Joseph Tam. Song brings 12 years of private banking
experience to the role, having previously worked at Credit
Suisse.
Charlene Mak rejoined the bank in June from Bank of Singapore as
executive director, RM, reporting to team lead Elina Yuen.
Helen Tong joined as MD, RM, reporting to Kin Chan, market head,
private banking, Hong Kong. Tong has 16 years of experience
working in leading international banks in Hong Kong, most
recently at Credit Suisse.
Ramon Au Yeung joined from Pictet Wealth Management as executive
director, RM, reporting to senior client partner, Nenita Ang
Gabaldon. Yeung has more than 35 years’ experience in wealth
management and private banking, covering markets in Greater China
and the Philippines.
UAE
Alasdair Scarr rejoined the bank in June from Citigroup as
executive director, RM, reporting to Nash Mithani, head, private
banking, UAE, and market head, global South Asian clients. Scarr
has over 35 years of experience in the financial services
industry.
Ahmad Anabtawi joined as executive director, RM, reporting to
Nash Mithani. With more than 25 years of banking experience in
the Middle East, Anabtawi most recently worked with Mashreq Bank.
