Standard Bank Offshore, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Johannesburg-listed Standard Bank Group, has appointed Simon Buckerfield to the role of business development manager with a focus on Latin America and Africa.

Buckerfield joins the firm from HSBC Dubai, where he was on a three-year secondment from HSBC Isle of Man, and managed relationships with high net worth clients in the region. As part of Standard Bank’s Isle of Man-based intermediary team he will promote the firm’s range of offshore savings and deposit accounts via intermediaries to clients in Africa and Latin America.

As reported elsewhere in WealthBriefing today, Société Générale has also announced the expansion of its team serving Latin American clients, as the region increasingly attracts attention as a growth market for the wealth management industry.
