Standard Bank Names Head Of International Private Clients

South Africa's Standard Bank has appointed Deon de Klerk as head of international private clients for its offshore operations.

The newly-created role follows the recent restructure of the bank’s personal and business banking international division.

In his new role de Klerk will be based in Jersey. Since 1997 he has worked for Liberty Holdings, Standard Bank’s wealth management arm, in a number of senior positions: in July 2010 he was appointed director of its private clients division.

This month the bank hired Seán Flanagan as head of compliance for its offshore operations. He is responsible for compliance functions in Jersey, the Isle of Man and Mauritius.

In related news, Standard Bank Jersey and Standard Bank Isle of Man recently launched Quantum PLUS 7, a structured product designed to return the initial capital along with interest on half the deposit while the other half provides for exposure to stock market growth.
