SimCorp Updates Dimension Investment Management Platform

SimCorp, the Danish financial services technology firm, has released a new version of its Dimension investment management platform to address changes such as the increased focus on monitoring counterparty risk.

SimCorp Dimension version 4.8 features both updates and new modules designed to increase the automation of workflow in back-, middle- and front-office processes.

In terms of front-office functionality, several processes including order simulations and trading have been simplified, while for the middle-office new modules have been added to provide users with more options for analysing performance and risk.

With regards to the back-office, the updated version of the system includes new block trading and collateral rules features which are intended to help user firms reduce costs through carrying out fewer transactions and spending less time deciding on which security to deliver, SimCorp said in a statement. Dimension 4.8 also features a new securities lending function which the firm said significantly improves the system’s usability.

SimCorp has committed itself to releasing an updated version of Dimension every six months and is keen to highlight the fact that it invests around a third of its cost base into R&D annually.
