Senior Economist Appointed At AXA Investment Managers

In a bid to extend its global reach, the research and investment strategy team at AXA Investment Managers has appointed a senior economist in the UK.

After a six-month recruiting process, the research and investment strategy team at AXA Investment Managers has appointed a senior economist in the UK.

Joining the team is David Page, who will serve as a cross-country economist conducting macro-economic and thematic research, as well as market strategy and asset allocation, the firm said in a statement.

In this role, Page will provide estimations of short- and medium-term trends as well as analysis of long-term structural themes, with a particular focus on US and UK economics and policies as the firm looks to extend its global reach. He will report to Eric Chaney, head of research at AXA IM and chief economist at AXA Group.

He replaces Mark Allan, who left in January to join Autonomy Capital as an economist.

Page moves from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, where he produced the firm’s high frequency data forecasts.

He has also worked at Investec as an economist for UK and European economies.

Commenting on Page’s appointment, Chaney said: “As market volatility continues and fiscal policies evolve after the crisis, insightful macroeconomic risk assessments are a crucial factor for long-term investors.”
