SVM Asset Management, the Edinburgh-based investment boutique, has appointed Dr James Cooke as investment analyst, as part of a move to strengthen its fund management team.

Dr Cooke joins from Edinburgh Partners, where he worked as an investment associate for three years. In his new role he will support five fund managers across the firm's retail and institutional funds.

SVM Asset Management was founded in 1990 and focuses on UK and European equities, and multi-asset funds of funds. It manages assets totalling £750 million (around $1.194 billion) for both retail and institutional clients.
