There's a new head of EMEA at the US-headquartered organisation that collectively oversees $3.69 trillion as of the end of September.
State
Street Global Advisors, the asset management business of
State Street Corp, has appointed Ann Prendergast as new head of
Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Prendergast will be taking over from Rory Tobin, who
announced he was retiring in June 2023 following nine years at
SSGA.
Prendergast will report to president and chief executive Yie-Hsin
Hung. She will continue to lead State Street Global Advisors
Europe. In her new role, Prendergast’s responsibilities include
developing and executing State Street Global Advisors’ strategic
direction in Europe, ensuring continued growth in the region and
providing regulatory oversight for the firm's EMEA
activities. She will lead a team of about 500 professionals in
the region and will remain based in the firm’s Dublin office.
Originally joining State Street in 2000 as a relationship
manager, Prendergast has held several positions of increasing
responsibility over the years. Most recently, she served as head
of State Street Global Advisors Europe, with responsibility for
the firm’s European Union-based portfolio management,
distribution, product development, fund management and
operations.
At the end of September, SSGA oversaw a total of $3.69 trillion.
