SEI Names New Private Banking Executive
The US-based financial services firm has made a senior appointment to its UK private banking arm.
SEI has appointed Kevin Russell to the newly-created role of proposition director within its UK private banking executive management team.
Russell brings over 30 years of wealth management experience, of which 26 were spent at Standard Life, most recently as head of platform and e-business development. During the last five years, he worked in a number of consultancy and advisory roles, including at SEI.
Based in London, he will be responsible for driving forward the SEI Wealth Platform proposition in the UK. He will report to Brett Williams, managing director of SEI Wealth Platform, UK private banking.
“Kevin’s appointment significantly strengthens our executive management team and will help us ensure we fully capitalise on further growth during the rest of the year,” said Williams.
“His wealth of industry experience and expertise will be invaluable as we continue with our objective of becoming the platform partner of choice for companies within the wealth management sector, including private client investment managers, large IFAs and banks.”
SEI's UK private banking executive management team comprises Williams, Russell, chief operating officer Jim London, commercial director Martin Steer, head of sales Andrew Booker and head of operations Steve Waldron.
Other additions to the private banking business include John Higgins and Paul Bayliss, previously an executive director for Coutts & Co in London, as head of change and sales director respectively.
SEI provides investment processing, investment management and investment operations services to corporations, financial institutions, financial advisors and ultra-high net worth families. As of 30 June 2016, through its subsidiaries and partnerships, the firm had $269 billion in assets under management and $438 billion in client assets under administration.
In June, it entered into a long-term partnership with UK-listed WH Ireland’s wealth division.
