Investec, the South African parent of UK wealth manager Rensburg Sheppards, is to drop the original name entirely, according to a report by Citywire.

The change comes around twelve months after the full acquisition of Rensburg by Investec, which had had a substantial minority stake for some years.

An unnamed source was quoted as saying the bank hoped the new name would serve to highlight the strength of Investec as a brand.
