RBC Wealth Management Names UK, Channel Islands Head

The appointee has been at Royal Bank of Canada since the early 1990s.
RBC
Wealth Management has named Dave Thomas as head of its
international business, covering the UK and Channel Islands.
Thomas continues as CEO of the RBC Capital Markets Europe
operation. He takes over from Ashif Ratanshi, who
left at the end of last year.
Based in London, Thomas will have a joint reporting line to Doug
Guzman, group head, RBC Wealth Management and insurance, and to
Troy Maxwell, chief operating officer, RBC Capital Markets.
Thomas continues to chair the capital markets Europe operating
committee and the WM-I operating committee. He remains executive
director, RBC Europe Limited as well as chairman, RBC Global
Asset Management (UK) Limited.
Joining RBC in 1992, Thomas has held a number of global and
regional mandates in the capital markets business, technology and
functions across the organisation.
In his expanded role, Thomas is supported by David Bailey as COO,
RBC Wealth Management – International. In this newly-created
role, Bailey, who is based in Jersey, is responsible for leading
business strategy initiatives and enhancing operational
efficiency. Since joining RBC 18 years ago, Bailey has held
senior finance posts, most recently as senior director, finance,
RBC Wealth Management – International.
