RBC Dexia Creates New Italian Role, Hires Ex-Merrill Lynch Executive

RBC Dexia Investor Services, which caters to onshore and offshore financial institutions, has appointed Cristiano Moruzzo as a director of relationship management in Italy, a newly-created role. He joins from Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Milan, where he had been in charge of operations and client relations.

In his new role, Moruzzo will develop existing relations with asset managers, pension funds, insurance companies and financial institutions. He will report to Paride Amiotti, managing director of RBC Dexia in Italy.

“Cristiano’s appointment is a key hire that highlights our commitment to building our presence in the Italian market following our acquisition of UBI’s depositary banking assets earlier this year,” said Amiotti.

In his 30-year career, Moruzzo has also held senior positions at a number of other companies including Bridgestone/Firestone, Westinghouse and Finalfa.
