RBC's London Operations To Sit Under One Roof After Property Lease Deal Signed

Staff at different parts of Royal Bank of Canada work from two main offices in London but will be in a single building towards the end of the decade after a 25-year lease was signed to occupy an office tower currently under construction.

Royal Bank of Canada’s employees are due to move into a 37-storey tower block in London’s Bishopsgate following a property lease agreement.

Brookfield Property Partners has signed a pre-let agreement with RBC for 250,000 square feet at 100 Bishopsgate. RBC will occupy floors one to seven of the tower on a 25-year lease. This includes the five podium levels, at about 44,000 square feet each.

Formal construction of the 962,000 square foot grade-A office, retail and restaurant development began in May 2015 and practical completion of the building is expected in 2018.

At the moment, RBC Wealth Management, along with certain other businesses, are located in Riverbank House. Other parts of the RBC operation are in Thames Court. The move brings together staff from capital markets, investor and treasury services, and wealth and asset management.
