Principal Global Investors, the asset management organisation and member of the Principal Financial Group, has named a new funds distribution head in Asia.

Effective 3 October 2013, Jane Fung takes the role of director, head of funds distribution Asia, responsible for leading the firm's UCITS and QIF funds distribution efforts in the region. She reports to Kirk West, executive director for international investments, and Andrea Muller, chief executive for Asia. 

Prior to the appointment, Fung was the regional sales head for Asia at Old Mutual Global investors, where she led the firm's regional sales and marketing strategies. She also worked for Credit Agricole Asset Management Hong Kong and Baring Asset Management Hong Kong. 

Principal Global Investors currently has 29 funds offered by 10 boutiques. Its total assets under management as at 30 June 2013 is $289.1 billion.
