PineBridge Hires Fund Management Star To Lead New Team

Global investment manager PineBridge Investments has made four new appointments to its equity analyst teams in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Fund management veteran Kenneth Tang starts as director, portfolio manager, Asian equities, based in Singapore. Before joining, he was managing director and portfolio manager at Black River Asset Management where he managed Asian and Commodity long/short strategies. Before Black River, he spent nine years with Amundi Asset Management (previously Credit Agricole Asset Management) where he was a senior member of the research team.
Dennis Lam starts as equity analyst, Hong Kong & China equities, based in Hong Kong. He has approximately ten years experience in research, mostly in the financial sector, having worked for various leading investment management firms, including Franklin Templeton, Schroders and Baron Asset Management.
Kim-Peng Ang starts as equity analyst, ASEAN equities, also based in Hong Kong. He has seven years of equity research experience and joins PineBridge from IMC Investment in Hong Kong where he was Investment Associate. Before that, he was a sell side equity analyst at Kenanga Investment Bank (Malaysia).
Jacob Lee and Samantha Kwong both start as equity analysts, based
in Hong Kong. Lee will cover ASEAN Equities and joined from
Deutsche Bank’s investment banking division where he was an
associate. Before Deutsche Bank, he worked at HSBC in Hong
Kong and Lehman Brothers in London.
Kwong will cover Hong Kong and China Equities. Before
joining PineBridge, she was at Kim Eng where she had covered the
consumer discretionary sector since 2010.
Additionally Wilfred Son Keng Po, managing director and portfolio
manager, who was previously based in the Philippines, has
relocated to Hong Kong to oversee ASEAN equities portfolio
management.
Rajeev Mittal, PineBridge’s Asia-Pacific chief executive officer,
said, “These appointments represent an important milestone in the
build-out of our equity team in Asia. Kenneth is a top performing
portfolio manager and will be instrumental in PineBridge’s growth
strategy in Asian equities, specifically in Singapore. At the
same time, the expansion of the research team increases our
intellectual capital and sector diversification and will enhance
our already superior investment performance.”
