Pictet Hires Asia Total Return Specialist

Pictet Asset Management has appointed Anthony Cheung as a senior investment manager within its Asia total return team.
Cheung joins the institutional asset management arm of the Swiss private bank Pictet & Cie from Gartmore Investment Management as an investment manager in the global emerging markets team, specialising in China. Before Gartmore, he worked at ABN AMRO Asset Management and Central Asset Investments in Hong Kong.
In his new role, Cheung will co-manage Asia equity long/short funds and report to Nidhi Mahurkar, head of Asia equity long/short.
In related news, Pictet Asset Management hired Micael Hagelin as senior business development manager in May.
At 31 March 2011, Pictet managed £83.2 billion ($135.3 billion) in assets.
