Pictet Asset Management, part of Swiss banking house Pictet, has appointed Luke Chua as senior investment manager for emerging corporate bonds to the London-based team. He previously worked at Schroder Investment Management.

In his previous job, Chua managed the Emerging Markets Corporate Bond fund in Singapore. He began his career as a credit analyst in 1996 at Axa Investment Managers.

“Luke's arrival completes the Emerging Corporate Bonds team at Pictet Asset Management. During 2013 we also recruited two analysts - Anya Kopyleva and Ivan Fernandez - and a client portfolio manager - Karen Lam.  With almost 20 years’ experience in credit analysis and portfolio management, Luke’s appointment adds even greater depth to an already experienced team,” said Alain-Nsiona Defise, head of emerging corporate bonds at Pictet Asset Management.

Geneva-based Pictet Group oversaw $267.4 billion ($439.4 billion) in assets under management and custody at 30 September 2013.
