PNC Pays Back TARP Loan

PNC Financial Services Group repaid $7.6 billion owed to the US Treasury under the Troubled Asset Relief Program's Capital Purchase Program yesterday, a statement from the firm said.

Earlier this month, PNC agreed to sell its PNC Global Investment Servicing unit to Bank of New York Mellon for around $2.5 billion.
