OppenheimerFunds Launches "Global Tracker" App For Tablets

New York-based OppenheimerFunds has launched Global Tracker, an app providing financial advisors and investors a “360 degree perspective” of global markets, investments and funds through a tablet interface - compatible for iPad, Android and Windows/OS X.
Global Tracker - available to download from the firm's website - sources international fund facts, portfolio manager videos, index performance, company data and economic trends.
Additional product features include economic data on markets, countries and industry sectors; data and statistics, updated on a monthly basis; an overview of OppenheimerFunds’ fund managers, and access to its Twitter feed, the firm said.
“Our new app demonstrates a major cultural shift in the industry, transforming the traditional advisor-to-client relationship in ways that promote a more independent, globalized way of thinking about investing,” said Philipp Hensler, head of distribution.
The firm also said the app offers a “transparent view” into portfolio companies, underlining the impact individual countries and their economies had on a company’s performance, presenting users with a real-time view of how globalization affects the world’s economy.
OppenheimerFunds manages around $168 billion in assets, including mutual funds with over 11 million shareholder accounts, as of 31 December 2011.
