Oppenheimer Appoints Asset Manager President

The New York-based wealth manager, Oppenheimer Holdings, has made John Blau president of its asset management unit.

Blau joined Oppenheimer in 1998 as a financial advisor, later worked as head of West Coast asset management marketing and finally served as co-head of sales and marketing for Oppenheimer Asset Management.

The move is part of the firm’s plans to grow its managed account business, a statement from the firm said.

“I'm excited to have the opportunity to help shape our plans to achieve new levels of growth and share Oppenheimer's expertise with our clients,” added Blau.

Oppenheimer provides securities brokerage and investment banking services to high-net-worth individuals, families, corporate executives, local governments, businesses and institutions in the US.
