Old Mutual Wealth's New Investment Division Sees Triple Exit

The UK wealth manager has appointed Ben Mountain and Anthony Gillham to spearhead the new division, which focuses on multi-asset investment solutions.
As part of the launch of its new investment division, Old Mutual Wealth has announced the departure of Stewart Cazier, John Ventre and François Zagamé.
Cazier, previously Old Mutual Wealth's chief operating officer of distribution, was appointed to Old Mutual Global Investors in May to lead the new investment solutions team. OMGI's multi-asset head Ventre and fund manager Zagamé will also be leaving the business.
Old Mutual Wealth's new investment division combines capabilities from subsidiaries Quilter Cheviot and Old Mutual Global Investors. It covers portfolio management, fund research, asset allocation and the Managed Portfolio Service. The 24-strong multi-asset investment solutions unit will now be headed up by Ben Mountain and Anthony Gillham.
Mountian joined Quilter Cheviot in 1999 and has been joint head of the firm's Managed Portfolio Service since 2012, alongside his role as head of the investment fund research team. Gillham joined Old Mutual in 2000 and is a portfolio manager within its multi-asset team. Both Mountain and Gillham will join the monthly multi-asset investment forum, which will be chaired by OMGI's director of investments, Paul Simpson.
“Since QC joined Old Mutual Wealth earlier this year we have been identifying areas of complementary activity and how we can best harness the expertise of two superb investment businesses managing clients' money. These significant developments present the opportunity to more effectively leverage the combined investment knowledge of QC and OMGI for the benefit of all our clients in the multi-asset area,” said Old Mutual Wealth's recently appointed chief investment director, Martin Baines.
“In Ben and Anthony we have two very experienced investment leaders. I truly believe that with their leadership, this new unit will be able to deliver the investment returns that our clients expect from such a talented team.”
The restructure will see Gillham, who currently manages the Old Mutual Voyager Strategic Bond Fund, take on the Old Mutual Spectrum Funds range. Meanwhile, the Old Mutual Voyager Funds range will be managed by Gillham and Sacha Chorley, apart from the Old Mutual Voyager Global Dynamic Fund, which will be managed by Anthony and Lee Freeman-Shor.
