Ogier Names New Partner As Part Of Cayman Islands Growth Push
Ogier has welcomed Ulrich Payne to its dispute resolution team in the Cayman Islands.
Offshore law firm Ogier has appointed Ulrich Payne as a new partner within its expanding Cayman Islands dispute resolution team.
Payne joins from the London practice of law firm Kirkland & Ellis International, where he was partner. He previouslyly worked at London-based Simmons & Simmons and Hogan Lovells.
“The Cayman dispute resolution team is in an expansion phase and Ulrich’s appointment further strengthens our offering, particularly in the area of complex financial services litigation,” said partner at Ogier, Rachael Reynolds, who leads the Cayman Islands team.
Payne brings to Ogier a background in complex international disputes, mostly with a financial element. He has worked on cases across the UK, France, Germany and Belgium, and advised on disputes in Russia, the Middle East and the US.
“With Ulrich complementing the recent appointments of Andrew Wanambwa in the British Virgin Islands and Ray Ng in Hong Kong, Ogier’s Carib-Asia region is benefitting from an influx of dynamic, highly skilled partners who have proven track records in dealing in complex cross-jurisdictional issues and we have laid the foundations for further growth in the region,” said Ogier’s head of dispute resolution, Edward Mackereth.
Among other recent additions in Ogier's Cayman office are David Cooney and Bradley Kruger, who also joined as partners.
Ogier employs over 350 people across their offices in the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Jersey, Luxembourg, Shanghai and Tokyo.
