Ogier Names Managing Director In Channel Islands
Ogier, the offshore law and fiduciary services firm, has appointed Tom Amy as managing director of Ogier Fiduciary Services in Guernsey.
Amy, who has been with Ogier since 2010, is moving from Ogier's Jersey office. He has special expertise in funds and corporate work as well as accounting and audit, having first qualified as an accountant with PwC in 2001.
"Tom has a detailed knowledge of regulatory matters and an excellent understanding of best practice in corporate governance. He benefits from a very broad commercial awareness of offshore activity and current trends, including the issues facing our clients," said Simon Willing, chief operating officer of Ogier Fiduciary Services.
In other recent hires - also in the Channel Islands - at the start of this month Ogier appointed a new group chief operating officer and a new finance director as part of changes to its Jersey-based management team.
Aaron Le Cornu was appointed as group COO, replacing Helen Bunbury, who has returned to her native Dublin. Le Cornu, who is now responsible for the financial and operational effectiveness of the overall Ogier Group, first joined the firm as group finance director in May 2009, having spent the previous ten years with HSBC.
Jamie Bore was promoted to group financial director (Le Cornu’s former role), with responsibility for the group's management and operational finances. He joined the firm in 2009, having previously worked for the financial services firm IFG as UK group business analyst.
Ogier employs some 850 people and provides advice on BVI, Cayman, Guernsey, Jersey and Luxembourg law and fiduciary services.
