Investment house Ocean Dial Group has appointed Gaurav Narain as the head of research at its Mumbai subsidiary, Ocean Dial Advisers Private.  He joins from New Horizon Investments.

Prior to his career at New Horizon Investments, where he managed a long-only fund for foreign institutional investors in Indian equities, Narain was a fund manager with ING Investment Management India. At that firm, he oversaw $200 million in assets across the Indian equity markets.

Ocean Dial Asset Management is a London-based firm and manages the India Capital Growth Fund (a mid-cap focused closed-ended Guernsey-registered investment company listed on AIM) and a large-cap domestically-focused India fund.

The latter fund is being converted to a UCITS IV compliant open-ended investment company, to be launched to the market in due course.
