Seneca
Investment Managers shows no sign of slowing down, following
its birth from the acquisition of Miton Capital Partners, as it
appoints a new chairman.
International investment expert David Warnock will help deliver
the firm’s continuing plans for growth and development.
Miton Capital Partners was acquired last month by Liverpool-based
Seneca Partners Group, subject to FCA approval. Following the
renaming of the group’s new arm to Seneca Investment Managers, it
has set the firm’s plan for growth into motion.
In the purchase, it gained Miton’s fund division to the UK asset
management and corporate advisory operations. Under the new
banner of Seneca Investment Managers, Warnock will serve as the
first chairman of the firm.
During his 30 years in the investment management industry,
Warnock co-founded Aberforth Partners, managing it and leading
its strategic development.
Since retiring from the firm five years ago, he currently serves
as chairman of Troy Income & Growth Trust and a non-executive
director of British Polythene Industries and Standard Life
European Private Equity Trust, as well as actively investing in a
number of private companies himself.
Prior to his work with Aberforth Partners, he spent four years in
the US with 3i Group as well as three more in its UK offices, as
well as a post at Ivory & Sime.
Seneca Partners manages a number of specialist investment funds,
catering to high net worth entrepreneurs and family offices. The
group has offices in Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester, and also
advises companies on interest rate hedging arrangements and
corporate finance matters.
