A ninth managing partner has been appointed at Lombard Odier Group.

Dr Hugo Bänziger will join the Geneva-based group on 1 April from derivatives exchange Eurex, where he is the chairman of the board of directors, Lombard Odier said in a statement.

The current eight partners at Lombard Odier own and manage the independent family business. Aiming to expand internationally, the private bank currently has a network of 25 offices in 18 countries.

“As we continue to grow our private client, institutional and banking infrastructure businesses, Dr Bänziger’s breadth of expertise, especially in finance and risk management, will be a significant advantage in our international expansion,” said Patrick Odier, Lombard Odier’s senior managing partner.

When not in the boardroom, Dr Bänziger dabbles in teaching across the globe. He is adjunct professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, visiting professor of the Lew Kwan Yew Institute for Public Policy, National University of Singapore and visiting professor at the London School of Economics.
