New Head for Charities Team at UK Law Firm

Private client law firm Wilsons has appointed Moira Protani as head of its charities team, from 1 September 2008. She will divide her time between a London office and the firm’s base in Salisbury. She replaces Alison McKenna who left at the end of May to become the first president of the new Charity Tribunal.

Gillian Fletcher, formerly a consultant at law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner, will also be joining the team in August as a consultant advising on the constitutional and governance side, alongside Ms Protani and the existing team.  Prior to joining Berwin Leighton Paisner in 2001, Ms Fletcher was a senior legal advisor at the Charity Commission.

Managing partner Jonathan Stephens said "Our work in the charity world has been a natural adjunct to our private client practice and both continue to thrive in a symbiotic manner.  We are still growing our business and always looking for talented individuals."
