New Dallas Director Hired At Barclays Wealth

Barclays Wealth has appointed Michele Huff Powell as director and investment representative for the Dallas branch.

Powell steps in from US Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, where she served as senior wealth advisor. She has over 25 years of experience advising high net worth individuals and families. In her new role, she reports to Steve Head, the regional manager for Texas.

The wealth management arm of the UK-listed bank has been busy beefing up its US business in recent months, appointing six investment representatives in June, five in May and 14 in March. The hiring spree shows no signs of easing off, and the firm hired Hans Olsen from JP Morgan as managing director and head of investment strategy for the Americas in July.

Barclays Wealth has 13 offices across the Americas, including Barclays Wealth Trustees. Worldwide, the firm has total client assets of around $273 billion, as of 30 June 2011.
