NFP names chief operating officer for BD division

Former Fidelity Investments exec Vanderheyden to help helm NFP Securities. Former Fidelity executive John Vanderheyden has joined NFP Securities, the brokerage arm of nfp.com National Financial Partners (NFP), as its COO. He reports to NFP Securities' president James Poer.
"John's focus is on enhancing the advisor experience, whether he's involved in technology, operations or resource management," says Poer. "We welcome the expertise he brings to the organization."

Prior to joining NFP, Vanderheyden established and led the Program Management Office of Fidelity's clearing subsidiary National Financial. In this role, he oversaw "strategic planning and resource management initiatives," according to an NFP press release. Before that, he held a number of senior positions with Fidelity in product consulting and relationship management. He joined Fidelity in 2000 from Dain Rauscher (now RBC Wealth Management USA).
NFP's CEO Jessica Bibliowicz says Vanderheyden's background in strategic planning and day-to-day operations are especially valuable to NFP's partner firms "as they seek to further strengthen their relationships with clients and deliver top-notch advice and services."
New York-based NFP is an independent distributor of financial services products to high-net-worth individuals and companies through a network of more than 180 firms in which it owns equity and a total network of 320 firms. -FWR
